**Job Description**:
Job Title Medical Receptionist - Priority/Urgent Care Centre
Reports To Practice Manager (PM) or Business Manager (BM)
Direct Reports No direct reports
Role Purpose
To provide high quality service to both patients and Health Care Professionals (HCPs) within ForHealth Medical Centres

Principal Accountabilities
The following accountabilities of this role in no way limit the Company in allocating additional accountabilities (specific tasks, projects or reject activities) to the employee, within the scope of the employee’s level of competence, experience, knowledge and qualification.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Services
- First point of contact for patients either face to face or over the phone.
- Undertake an administrative triage of patients and escalate to the nurse or doctor when required
- Greet patients politely
- Use system to book and queue patients to see a HCP
- Assist patients and third parties with enquiries.
- Direct emergency services and support clinical staff during a medical emergency
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy guidelines are followed when dealing with patient information.

Measure of success (KPI’s)
- Low number of “walk outs”
- Low number of patient complaints;
- Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

HCP Services
- Provide administration services to HCPs.
- Advise Practice Manager if the Centre is not stocked and in running order.
- Ensure patients are booked in, paperwork is completed.
- May involve scanning, batching, recalls of patients.

Measure of success (KPI’s)
- No HCP complaints

Administration Duties
- Answering calls, faxing, photo copying, mail distribution, compiling and transferring patient files, and Work Cover administration.
- Open centre and prepare for the day.
- Close centre and attend to general housekeeping.
- Ensure reception area is clean and presentable at all times.

Measure of success (KPI’s)
- Calls answered within three rings Assigned work is completed by the end of the day.
- Patient records correctly filed.
- Medicare batching up to date

Workplace, Health & Safety
- Assist your manager / supervisor implement WHS policies and procedures into day-to-day operations
- Assist your manager / supervisor in ensuring workplace inspections and audits are completed
- Ensure Hazards are reported using the appropriate Hazard report tool and follow up on actions to correct any hazards identified
- Report all incidents or injuries immediately to your manager / supervisor

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications - No formal qualifications required
Experience - Customer Service and/or Reception experience highly regarded

- Strong verbal communication skills
- Administration Skills
