Being in an exciting period of development, an opportunity has arisen for a L2 Registered Nurse to join our dedicated residential care team in the position of Infection Control Coordinator (ICC).
**About the role**The role requires a minimum of 3 days per week (two days at Glynde and one day at the Hope Valley site) and ideally 4 days per week between Monday and Friday office hours. Out of hours contact by phone may be required from time to time.
The ICC works collaboratively to seek input and consensus from key stakeholders, with a direct reporting line to the General Manager Residential Care Glynde.
The ICC will:
- Coordinate, investigate and evaluate strategies for infection prevention and control within the RCH’s at Glynde and Hope Valley.
- Provide advice and recommendations relating to infection control and implement these when approved.
- Be a role model and leader in supporting and affirming the service excellence culture, vision and mission of LHI in accordance with LHl's Person and Position Specification.
- Identify and encourage opportunities for improvement in the delivery of services to the Residents, contribute to and manage the LHI Continuous Improvement Programme relating to infection control.
- Comply with and support staff to meet the work directives, Policies & Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures of LHI.
- Comply with and support the requirements of the Work Health & Safety Act 2012 (SA), to ensure a safe workplace for self and others.
**What do I need to bring to the role?**
- Registered Nurse (RN2) holding currently registered with AHPRA.
- Previous infection control experience.
- Competent clinician with sound assessment skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal.
- Committed to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work as part of a team and able to assist in the development of the team.
- Effective time management and problem solving skills.
- Able to manage pressure, competing demands and conflict in the workplace.
- Empathy with the Christian Philosophy of LHI.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Demonstration of compliance with and active support of organisational policies and procedures.
- Current National Criminal History Check within last 3 years, suitable for aged care/vulnerable groups.
**Highly regarded**
- Previous experience in Aged Care
- Post Graduate qualifications in gerontology, infection control.
