**We are looking for**:
Byron Shire Council is currently seeking an Ecologist in our Sustainable Development Team. The position plays a key role in providing a high level of service and specialist advice to Council and the community regarding ecological planning and natural resource management.
**About you**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, natural resource management or a related field.
- Accreditation as an assessor under the NSW Biodiversity Accredited Assessor System.
- Demonstrated recent experience providing expert technical and strategic ecological advice in a similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental legislation and current best practice in ecological planning.
- Demonstrated ability to be outcomes focused and solution orientated in a fast paced working environment.

**Location**:
This position is based at Mullumbimby, however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
