**Our Client**

Our client is the Australian division of a multinational investment firm that boasts a variety of diverse operations across 100's of countries. Currently an M&A Associate is sought to join its M&A team - likely in Melbourne or Sydney to support investment origination & execution activities.

**The Opportunity**

As a key member of the M&A team, you will play an important role supporting team members across investment origination, investment evaluation and transaction execution activities.

You will have the opportunity to add value through the majority of the M&A transaction lifecycle, working with a driven, high-energy investment team and senior leaders within the organisation with the opportunity to build a long-term career as a value investor in the software sector.

Specifically, your responsibilities could include, (inter alia):

- Analysis of target companies' financial/operational information.
- Management of Q&A with target companies & external advisers
- Prepare and negotiate offers.
- Industry research and competitor analysis.
- Development of financial models and normalisation of financials based on DD findings.
- Identify and succinctly communicate & report key risks and findings
- Support transaction negotiations
- Support the drafting of investment documents, including investment memos and due diligence reports.

**Required Skills & Experience**

It is likely you bring 1-4 years of experience gained in the corporate finance team of a professional services firm - ideally with exposure to due diligence and any of valuation, financial modelling or mergers & acquisitions.

With a relevant tertiary degree in Commerce (or related), you may also have completed or working towards a post-graduate qualification such as CFA or CA.

You're a strong communicator, highly driven, results orientated and looking to make the move into an investment-based environment.
