Plans and Lessons Officer

**Role Description**
This role is an APS6 position within a veteran-focused government department as part of the Mental Health and Research Translation team. This role provides a unique chance for individuals interested in supporting and making a positive impact in the veteran community.
Notes
- Working within a secure Defence environment, we are seeking Support staff at both the APS5 and APS6 levels
- Onsite Training provided
- Customer service and communication skills are essential.
- Policy experience ideal.
- Data Administration for veterans responses to questionnaires.
Key activities
- Operate in a high tempo and sensitive environment requiring continuous engagement
- across Defence.
- Accountable for providing accurate, consistent, timely and appropriate advice in relation to Taskforce Lessons activities, working individually or collaboratively to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Collection, data entry and analysis of continuous improvement Observations from Taskforce members and stakeholders to inform Taskforce Lessons Learned.
- Assist with the inclusion of observations in reports and presentations for visibility, approval and implementation of improvement Actions.
- Effectively communicate insight derived from analysis to support decision making.
- Secretariat functions for working groups and forums.
- Contribute to meetings within, or external, to the Taskforce to assist with the implementation of the Taskforce Lessons Framework and development of the new Enterprise Lessons Learned Framework.
- Coordinate the Taskforce Productivity and Wellbeing survey activities including procurement.
- Contribute to the development of procedures, processes and documents for inclusion in the Taskforce Business Management System.
- Support other high priority Taskforce wide activities, as required.

- Ability to resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
- Ability to think innovatively to identify and enable opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Proven organisational skills and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Familiarity of Defence Veterans environment
- Ability to work respectfully with a blended workforce (Military, civilian and contracted
- workforce)
- Experience in lessons and/or evaluation activities.
- Develop and maintain positive, robust stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to conduct meetings online and in person
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Security clearance - Current Baseline
- Good understanding of record management
