Supervising Metal Fabricator

**Insteel Contracting Pty Ltd** is an industry leader with stable and ongoing contracts. We are currently looking for a full-time Supervising Metal Fabricator to supervise and manage the erection of steel structures on sites on the east coast of Australia. This is an exciting position with opportunities for growth and professional development.

**Your duties will include**:

- Supervising and managing fabrication of steel structures (welding, assembly, and finishing)
- Ensuring fabrication/assembly of processed parts are done in an accurate & timely manner
- Checking structural steel for compliance to drawings at various stages of fabrication and welding
- Structural and general-purpose welding in steel
- Oversee site installations and maintenance work and provide guidance to the team to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met
- Carry out on-site welding/installation when required
- Ensure adherence to company procedures
- Implement quality control checks at various stages

**Position requirements**
- AQF Certificate III in Fabrication Trade including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV, or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of work experience as a metal fabricator
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Must be able to run a crew of 8-12 people and on occasion 2x projects concurrently
- Must be able to read construction drawings and complete all required work
- Must have all on-site welding tools
- Must have a reliable vehicle

Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Metal fabrication: 2 years (required)
