Operational since 1999, Bengalla is in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, and supplies international markets with approximately 11 Mtpa.
Bengalla is an open cut coal mine offering a residential lifestyle. The development consent for the operation provides the ability to mine through to 2039. We pride ourselves on the professionalism with which we pursue our goals and our strong links into our community.
**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, we are seeking skilled **High Voltage Electricians** to join the Maintenance Team. The Maintenance Team is a multi-discipline team that is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on plant and equipment.
Working closely with the broader Maintenance team, the HV Electrician plays a pivotal role in maintaining equipment through fault finding, diagnosing and maintenance in both workshop and field environments.
Using your knowledge and skills, you are enabled to take ownership, prioritise and plan tasks safely, efficiently and cost effectively as well as identify and action improvement opportunities that you see fit.
Working a Lifestyle roster - 12.5 hour shifts you will be** responsible** for:
- Inspecting, fault finding and defect elimination of Bengalla’s heavy mining equipment fleets to satisfy appropriate governing standards
- Diagnosing, repairing and performing routine servicing of equipment and plant
- Performing scheduled maintenance, statutory testing and electrical installations
- Ensuring all work completed is to the highest standard to ensure fleet reliability
- Providing assistance in the development and improvement of maintenance strategies
- Complying with Bengalla’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures at all times
**Qualifications and experience**
- Electrical Trade Qualification (HV Electrician)
- High Voltage Switching accreditation or willingness to complete qualification (HV Electrician)
- Demonstrated experience with maintenance of heavy mining equipment is essential (Hitachi, Cat and Komatsu)
- A strong service background with proven experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Sound computer skills
- Excellent work quality and attention to detail
- Ability to focus on continuous improvement, working safely and meeting environmental standards.
