**Position**: Laboratory Assistant - Biochemistry
**Location**: Bowen Hills, Brisbane, QLD
**Employment Type**: Full-time - Most shifts occur on weekday evenings, from 5:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Some daytime shifts (beginning at 9:00 AM) and weekend/holiday shifts (following the completion of training).
**Key Responsibilities**:
This role will involve **sample sorting and processing in the pre-analytical area of the laboratory.**
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will include the following:
- Specimen reception and sorting;
- Preparing samples for analysis, including loading to the laboratory track automation system;
- Assisting the scientific staff with automated instruments;
- General laboratory duties as required;
- Assist with general stock management, including ordering, reception, and rotation of reagents and other laboratory consumables; and
- Maintaining an organised and efficient work environment.
**What we are looking for**:
To be successful in this role, you'll have excellent communication and organisational skills as well as high attention to detail to enable maximum accuracy of processing. Previous relevant laboratory experience will be highly regarded, although it is not essential.
