**Job Description Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Tenders and Contracts Manager to proactively lead and coach the Tenders and Contracts Team to deliver stand out proposals and end to end processes. Ensuring consistency, operational excellence and risk minimization to BD at all times.

**Responsibilities**
- Partner and collaborate with local business and functional groups to ensure the tenders and contract strategy meets the business direction and aligns with corporate commercial goals.
- Provide leadership, coaching and management to the high performing Tender and Contracts Team.
- Develop compelling proposals and processes that meet the requirements and will stand out from other proposals.
- Ensure consistent management of all tender proposals and contracts including oversight of the process, development of standards, submissions, negotiations, and document management.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and training of all processes. Ensuring all tenders and contracts are efficiently understood and project managed in accordance with the business need.
- Implement a formal tender and contracts management computer-based management system to manage workflow, sign off, storage and all other related tender and contract details.
- Review, Identify risks within tenders and contract terms as well as GITC & Software Agreements. Seek clarification and determine potential mitigation strategies. Minimise risk to BD and maximize the impact of the tender.
- Negotiate tender / contract terms and conditions on behalf of BD in liaison with the relevant Functions and Businesses.
- Proactively prepare and disseminate information regarding tender and contract status, compliance, modifications at each stage of the tender and contract life cycle.
- Provide proactive interaction, in relation to tenders and contracts, with customers.

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in a contracts/commerce/law field is preferred.
- Proven financial, including a deep understanding around trading terms, rebates, financial incentives, KPIs etc.
- Legal acumen.
- Minimum 5 years corporate experience in a contract management/administration or paralegal role.
- Line management experience.
- Experience in dealing with Government departments is preferred.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Proficient computer skills; advanced experience with Microsoft packages.
- Self-motivated and action-oriented, thinks conceptually and operationally.
