An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the _Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic)_ or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
- Perform reception duties ensuring a welcoming and professional image of the school is promoted at all times
- Provide support to students, staff and visitors to the school
- Carry out data entry into CASES21, Compass, and other school based programs
- Perform word processing, data entry and manipulation, and basic reporting functions
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities within the dimensions of work level as requested by the Principal or Business Manager.

**Responsibilities**:
Typical duties of the **Administration Officer** are to:
**Reception & Banking**
- Attend to the reception counter and incoming phone calls.
- Receive client enquiries providing direction and advice in line with school policies and procedures, or referring to other staff members as appropriate
- Welcome visitors and volunteers to the school ensuring relevant ID / Working With Children Checks are held
- Receipt cash and EFTPOS transactions, prepare banking and balance EFTPOS
- Process incoming, outgoing and internal mail
- Monitor and order resources including stationery and photocopy paper

**Enrolments**
- Data entry for student enrolments, exits, transfers and family updates
- Maintain Student files
- Prepare student enrolment packs

**Attendance**
- Monitor and follow up student absences including communication with parents
