**Who are we looking for?**
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Research Fellow in Cyber Security to join School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Academic Division.
The School of Computer Science at QUT is looking to recruit a Research Fellow in Cyber Security (Academic Level B). This position will contribute to a major research project on software security funded by the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC), and involves collaborating with CSCRC industry partners and other participant universities throughout Australia. The project is SOCRATES: Software Security with a Focus on Critical Technologies.

The Faculty is led by the Executive Dean and the Executive Management Team which includes the Deputy Deans, Associate Deans, Heads of School, and the Faculty Operations Manager.
**About the School**
In 2018, the Cyber Security CRC was funded for seven years by the Commonwealth Government’s Cooperative Research Centres Program. The CSCRC participants include eighteen industry and government entities and six universities. Research is in two major programs: Critical Infrastructure Security and Cyber Security Solutions as a Service. The CSCRC also supports training and development of Australia’s future cyber security workforce through education programs with university and industry partners; knowledge generation from a range of disciplines to influence innovative approaches to cyber security; and building awareness of cyber security habits and risks.
**What you need to succeed**
Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.
You will demonstrate:
- Completion of a doctoral qualification in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or a similar discipline, with a focus on cyber security.
- Demonstrated academic research experience as evidenced by publications in high quality research journals and/or high-quality research presented at relevant conferences.
- Demonstrated research experience in a relevant area of information security such as critical infrastructure security, network security, machine learning, post-quantum cryptography, quantum-safe communications protocols, threat modeling, etc.
- Ability to build proof-of-concepts using C, Python, JavaScript or similar languages.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively; both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and work constructively with a range of collaborators on research projects within time and budget constraints.
- Experience at conducting research in both academic and industrial contexts is highly desirable.
