Banyule Leisure is part of the council's Healthy and Active Communities portfolio. The Pool lifeguard team reports to Banyule Leisure’s Operations Team and is responsible for supervising all patrons in the aquatic spaces of Ivanhoe Aquatic & Olympic Leisure.

**About the Role**:
As Pool Lifeguard you will supervise the aquatic environment at Ivanhoe Aquatic and Olympic Leisure Centre, ensuring that the aquatic facilities are safe for swimming and water-based activities. Staff are also required to mitigate hazards, manage emergency situations, and communicate effectively with fellow staff and the public.

**Skills, experience and certificates**:

- Experience in pool supervision is desirable.
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
- Prior Experience in a Lifeguarding position/ Surf Lifesaving Is highly regarded.
- A practical knowledge of pool supervision, water safety, water education, first aid, resuscitation, rescue techniques and public safety requirements
- Strong verbal communication skills are required in the position.
- A strong customer service orientation is required in dealings with patrons, members and residents.
- Sound liaison skills are required in dealings with aquatic facility staff, Council staff and management.

**Essential**:

- Current Level 2 First Aid & CPR.
- Current RLSS / Life Saving Victoria Pool Lifeguard certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check

- Pre-employment Medical
- Working with Children's Check
