The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Assistants in Nursing (Inpatient Unit Surgical) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide specific nursing tasks, while considering relationships with patients and families and awareness of the strengths and limitations of care
- May be required to provide support functions within units or other non-clinical units
- The role requires high level of adaptability in working in a variety of clinical settings
- Participate in clinical handover
- Liaise with the Registered Nurse/Enrolled Nurse regarding specific activities and outcomes for the unit

About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Certificate III or above (including undergraduate enrolment) in health-related studies would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time and Permanent Part time (multiple positions, hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $65 828 - $72 079 per annum or $33.20 - $36.35 per hour

About Us
Surgical Specialties Unit is a 28 Bed Unit that specialises in the delivery of Urology, Gynaecology, Gynae-oncology, Major Head and Neck surgery as well as General ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat), Maxillo-Facial and Plastics care. Patient numbers undergoing Major Head and Neck Surgery and Gynae-Oncology surgery continue to grow. Ongoing growth of the Plastic service also continues including major flap reconstructions. These services continue to increase the acuity of the patients.
