The Wilson Mining business is an integral part of services offered by The Mastermyne Group of Companies. It provides critical support and services to existing clients and pushes the envelope with leading edge technology and strata consolidation methods. Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a HSEC Coordinator to join the team.
**About the Opportunity**:
You will play a critical role in our business driving health, safety, environment and training strategies and initiatives across our New South Wales operations. The purpose of this role is to spend some time in the workplace with line leaders and teams to:
- Drive our safety strategies and initiatives with line leaders;
- Challenge and coach ways of working so that work is done as intended; and
- Challenge existing work processed to achieve best results in health and safety
- Assist with practical ways of achieving this change.
**Key responsibilities include but not limited to**:
- Managing ongoing compliance to ISO standards 9001,14001 & 45001 for the business which is a critical aspect for our licencing and approval for use of chemicals.
- Understand and implement our safety strategies;
- Contribute with ideas, methods and processes that will achieve improved safety outcomes for our people;
- Identify hazards and/or accepted practices that need to be changed;
- Challenging and coaching of our ways of working so that work is done as intended;
- Challenge the ‘green’ (the things we assume are working well) and embrace the ‘red’ (the bad news) aiming for improvement;
- Assist with incident investigations and identification of improvement actions,
- Assist with structured Risk Assessments,
- Maintain a TNA that supports the work requirements of our people in the field,
- Analyse data to improve safety and health outcomes.
**About the Person**:
- Underground mining safety/operational background advantageous;
- Ability to identify hazards and areas that are able to be improved;
- Very strong interpersonal skills so that you are able to challenge our ways of working, but retain/build trust of our leaders and teams and at the same time provide practical ways of achieving the desired change;
- Experience, and interpersonal skills to be able to navigate a path so that outcomes are achieved in a timely manner for the various situations.
