**Your new team**
- The Victorian Infectious disease reference laboratory (VIDRL) is a leading Australian Infectious disease reference laboratory located at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity.
- This role involves working in a fast-paced environment as part of the Serology Laboratory team, which includes the State HIV Reference Laboratory, World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Reference Laboratory for Measles/Rubella and WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis, the serology testing components. You would work with team members in the Infectious Diseases Serology Department and perform serological tests on samples referred from public hospitals, private pathology laboratories, private clinics, Melbourne Sexual Health Centre and the Victorian Department of Health.

**Your new role**:

- Accurately receive, process, and triage clinical samples, including data entry.
- Undertake pre and post analytical specimen handling and process samples in a timely manner, including identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens.
- Respond to sample requirements and general queries.
- Identify and resolve problems at the pre-analytical stage.
- Participate in all housekeeping laboratory duties.

- Work closely and collaboratively within a team
- Provide excellent customer service
- Good understanding of laboratory automation. Experience operating automated equipment such as: Liaison XL would be advantageous.
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks with excellent time management skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in a pathology laboratory desirable
- Prior experience in the use of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) advantageous
