Byron Shire Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic Planner (Land Use). The position plays a key role in delivering a high level of service in the preparation and implementation of strategic and environmental planning policies, plans and assessments.

Some specific tasks include:

- Preparing and implementing Local Growth Management Plans including residential, rural and employment land strategies, amending Local Environmental Plan and preparing Development Control Plans, and any associated policies, programs and plans.
- Implementing the strategic planning activities of Council and supporting and leading projects that occur from time to time.
- Liaising and consulting with the public (developers, community groups, etc.) on strategic planning matters and projects.
- Providing specialist technical information and advice regarding strategic planning matters to Council departments and other public authorities.

- Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary in the range of $1,568.10 to $1,816.88 per 35 hour week (dependent upon skills and experience - Council may negotiate beyond this range for experience at a Senior Planner level)

**Location**:
This position is based at Mullumbimby, however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
