**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Liverpool City Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced, and skilled Landscape Architect to the position of Recreation and Open Space Planner on a 3-year contract, with potential for extension. The purpose of the position is to forward plan and design a pipeline of open space and recreation projects, across growth areas in the Liverpool LGA.

**Key responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to) the following**:

- Undertaking comprehensive and detailed demographic analysis across the Liverpool LGA, to understand changes to local population and respective user needs.
- Developing and maintaining; policies, strategies, master plans, concept designs, plans of management, and other documentation relating to open space and recreation planning.
- Providing technical advice and input into projects being delivered by other teams within Council, the NSW Government, private developers and/or other organisations.
- Providing technical assistance to teams managing the execution of projects that have been planned / designed by the Community Planning team.
- Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders and the community, as required.
- Attending and presenting at inter-departmental meetings, governance / community committee meetings, workshops and as part of community consultation activities.

**ABOUT YOU**
- University Degree in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
- Experience in open space and recreation planning projects, including master plans for complex and significant sites.
- Attention to detail and a desire to deliver work to a high standard.
- Understanding of legislation and industry standards relevant to open space and recreation planning.
- Skills in project management, with the ability to successfully manage a complex and dynamic workload.
- High level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

You are encouraged to submit examples of your work, that demonstrate your relevant design and graphic communication skills, and experience. Please note your involvement in the projects that are included.
