**Who we are**:
Jackson Asphalt is the longest running asphalt supply and lay company in Perth. We build and maintain high quality roads, carparks, driveways, hardstands, paths, and crossovers.
We have three teams, a paving crew that completes our major projects, a patch crew that carries out minor works and a civil crew preparing base works.
**The role**:
Located in Maddington, the role requires regular travel and weekend work required (for which you will be remunerated for) you will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the Foreman and Leading Hand. This role will provide direction to field staff and ensure equipment is prepared for each job. As the Asphalt Supervisor, you will be responsible for everything from leading weekly Toolbox meetings to developing project plans for Asphalt jobs, supervising and coordinating activities, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
**Key responsibilities for this position include**:
- Work site inspections
- Daily job planning, resource allocation, performance monitoring and overseeing quality.
- Managing the relationship with the client's site personnel
- Responsible for the financial performance of the project
- Mentoring and training Asphalt crew members
- Conducting toolbox meetings
- Ensure the completion of all site reports on a daily basis
- Ensure that hazard reporting and risk management is undertaken during the project works.
- Resolution of all quality and performance issues
- Ensure a safe workplace
**What you’ll bring**
You will have previous experience with managing all aspects of supervising an asphalt project including knowledge of the delivery of contract scope requirements, understanding progress, productivity and performance measurements; building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and;
- Previous experience in Asphalt, Civil Road Construction or equivalent is essential.
- Lead by example and continually promote relevant aspects of Zero Harm when engaging with operational teams.
- Exposure in the surfacing industry or civil road construction, road maintenance.
- Successful track record with planning, organising and time management.
- High focus on quality outcomes to drive, best practice pavement construction processes.
- Proven experience in identifying opportunities; improvements and solutions.
- Recognised ability to lead & drive accountability throughout the workforce.
- Demonstrated ability with building relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Experience in the asphalt industry, including in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience in operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
- Understanding of IPWEA Standard specification and AusRoad.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Ability to perform mechanical maintenance on vehicular plant.
- Plant operation tickets.
- Valid White card
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Excellent communication
- Able to lead and motivate a team
- Able to handle multiple responsibilities
- Able to work & live away from home when required
- Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant transport laws and regulations

**Desirable**:
- Relevant plant certificates.
- Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Control accreditation.
- Current HC (heavy combination) drivers licence
- Certificate IV Civil Construction or higher, ideal
