**Emergency Department - Peer Support Worker**
- ** Exciting Consumer Peer Support role**:

- **Emergency Department CPSW based at Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH)**
- We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated peer support worker, to work as part of a team to actively engage our emergency department consumers. Peer workers will work alongside EMH and ED clinical staff to help provide the very best care to consumers in a high pressure environment. You will also provide referrals for suitable consumer to our many other peer support post discharge programs.

**Your new team**
- Provide support for individuals as they access emergency mental health and AoD services.
- Works closely with the IWAMHS Emergency Mental Health Team located within the Royal Melbourne Hospital Emergency Department and will be supported by the RMH ED.

**About you**:

- Empower consumers to make their own choices about their treatment and recovery with an emphasis on strengthening their internal resources to move forward.
- High level of resilience and the ability to work in a high pressure environment
- Support individuals to create external links in the community for ongoing support.
- Assist consumers by ensuring they actively participate in their own identified recovery goals.
- Work with a clinical team, requires an understanding of how mental health services work, a resilient and positive approach, and good communication skills.
