**About the Role**

This is a Permanent Part Time permanent position at 48 hours per fortnight within the Banksia Adolescent Mental Health ward.

In this role you will contribute to specific clinical expertise, as well as providing direct care planning and therapies for a allocated young people. This important position covers the role of coordination of care, from admission through to discharge, ensuring a central point for accountability of care and communication to the ward. You will provide specialist therapeutic input, assessments and interventions. This role reports clinically to the ward Psychiatrist for specific patients, and operationally reports to the NUM. You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive team of mental health professionals on Banksia.

Classification for this position will range from:

- Psychologist: PK1 Grade 2 Year 1 to PK4 Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $94,478 to $106,906 per annum, plus superannuation)
- Speech Pathology: YB47 Grade 2 Year 1 to YB50 Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $88,030 to $101,197 per annum, plus superannuation)
- Occupational Therapist: YB20 Grade 2 Year 1 to YB23 Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $88,030 to $101,197 per annum, plus superannuation)
- Social Work YC42 Grade 2 Year 1 to YC45 Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $88,030 to $101,197 per annum, plus superannuation)
- Registered Nurse: NP81 - NP74 RPN Grade 3 Year 1 to Grade 3 Year 4 (FTE base salary $100,932 to $112,091 per annum, plus superannuation)

**What you'll achieve**:

- Deliver excellent evidence-based practice, assessments and interventions, ensuring the multi-faceted needs of young people and are appropriately evaluated in care plans
- Provides child centered, family focused care through partnership with parents/ families
- Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
- Actively contributes, as an individual and as a member of a team, to the continuous improvement of health care quality and patient safety
- Participate in clinical supervision in accordance with local standard operating procedures and/or the RCH Allied Health
- Clinical Supervision Guideline which are based on the DHHS Allied Health Clinical Supervision Framework
- Participation in professional development activities to ensure that best clinical practice is maintained
- Understands the principles of evidence-based practice

**Your skills and experience**:

- Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
- Demonstrated/embedded clinical practice and experience beyond entry-level
- Demonstrated clinical skills in the provision of child and adolescent mental health care
- Postgraduate diploma in psychiatric/mental health nursing or completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program
- Hold general or specialist Nursing registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 5 years work experience post initial registration in mental health

**About the Department**

Banksia - Mental Health Ward is a 16-bed inpatient unit where young people aged 13 to 18 years are assessed and treated for a range of mental and psychological disorders. The Ward provides the least restrictive environment possible while remaining compatible with the needs and safety of young people and staff. It also aims to promote community management wherever possible.

Banksia Ward uses a multi-disciplinary approach to assess and treat young people admitted to the Ward. The team is comprised of consultant psychiatrists, registered nurses with mental health qualifications, a psychologist, social worker, psychiatry registrar and teachers with special education qualifications.
