Bailey Nelson is looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Product to lead our product function and be a member of our Senior Leadership Team. **About the role**:
**Product Leadership**
- Work with the Executive Chairman to develop the Product Strategy to offer our customers well designed, quality and stylish eyewear
- Mentor, lead and manage the entire product team and buying and merchandise processes
- Contribute thought leadership to a range of cross company projects that involve product
- Sit on leadership team and partner with other Heads of on initiatives involving product

**Range Planning & Product Delivery**
- Build balanced range assortment that maximises sales and minimises markdown
- Work closely with Planning and Design to determine the global product range assortment
- Own critical path processes and manage product delivery to the critical path
- Establish a clear vision between core, seasonal and fashion products

**Supplier Management**
- Manage all supplier relationships and source new suppliers
- Develop supplier strategy for the future based on supplier capabilities and risk management
- Negotiate key terms with suppliers
- Conduct supplier visits where relevant

**Financial**
- Achieve budgeted sales and profit targets at a category level
- Own and drive margin at a category level and ensure COGS, ROS and sell thru are achieved
- Work closely with Merchandise Planning to manage trade, markdowns and aged inventory
- Manage frames and accessories to maximise revenue and profit targets
- Own and drive global pricing and promotional strategy
- Extend ATV and customer lifecycle through quality product offering
- Analyse and report on product performance

**Customer Champion**
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve product offering
- Monitor industry trends and conduct competitor analysis globally
- Understand global customer trends and have well researched insights into consumer behaviour and how this will assist in delivering product range
- Partner with Design to drive innovation to enhance consumer loyalty through sustainability, product features and benefits

**Compliance**
- Responsible for the implementation of compliance requirements in product e.g. Modern Slavery Act Compliance, product tags and category labelling for sunglasses

**KPIs**
- Margin
- Owns Margin targets and delivers margin improvements and targets at a category level
- Owns and delivers a pricing and promotional strategy that maximises profit
- Determines the global product range assortment
- Global commercial metrics for frames and accessories are achieved including sales, gross profit, sell thru and low quality based write offs

**Who you are**
- Proven experience as a Senior Buyer and Merchandise Manager in either an online or traditional retail environment
- Tightknit, constantly improving and down to earth
- In line with the BN values.
- Experience leading a team
- Exposure to a range of merchandise functions including: merchandise planning, allocations, quality control, production and logistics
- Tertiary education preferred but not required
- The role will need strong analytical analysis of consumer behaviour, product sales data, threats and opportunities and a strong ability to deliver.
- In-depth knowledge of consumer preferences and behaviours
- Strong commercial focus with excellent numerical ability and analytical skills
- Unwavering enthusiasm and a can-do attitude
- A problem solver - shares suggestions and ideas for improving performance with Senior Leadership Team the broader team on a regular basis
- Communicates effectively and clearly
- Understanding and trust in data. Your decisions are creative and data-driven
- Collaboration. You work with your team and across the company to create awesome ideas and seek support when you need to
- Calm under pressure. You work to tight deadlines and remain calm and focused
