**Disability Support Worker**:
**About the Company**:
Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

**The Role**:
Our participant is a 57-year-old male who has an incomplete Spinal Cord Injury and a Hypoxic Brain Injury due to a near drowning incident.

As a result of his injuries, he has bowel and bladder issues (neurogenic), is at risk of sudden high blood pressure (autonomic dysreflexia) and has diminished sensation and motor function in all 4 limbs and torso. The participant reports multiple areas of spasms and pain throughout his entire body, and has been diagnosed with Central Pain Syndrome.

He has been assessed as requiring care 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

**Current Roster**:
Shift 1: 0600-1000

Shift 2: 0800-1600

Shift 3: 1600-2200

Shift 4: 1900-2100 (**_Saturday and Sunday only_**)

Shift 5: 2200-0600 (**_inactive sleepover_**)

**Pay rates**:

- Dayshift: $40.00 per hour
- Afternoon shift: $44.00 per hour
- Saturday shift: $56.00 per hour
- Sunday shift: $72.00 per hour
- Inactive sleepover: $100 fixed rate

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
- Assistance with catheter care, including changing leg baG
- Assistance with showering, dressing and grooming
- Assistance with meal preparation and feeding
- Assistance with other domestic duties such as laundry and cleaning
- Transferring in and out of bed, shower and power wheelchair
- Completing skin checks
- Assistance with medication
- Assistance with health, rehab and stretching exercises
- Assistance with community access and attending rehab appointments

**Skills & Experiences**:

- Experience in all skills listed above
- Australian Driver License
- Current National Police Clearance
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
