Marnong Estate is located on a stunning 1500-acre winery with sweeping views to the Macedon Ranges, only 20 minutes from Tullamarine in Mickleham.

The Cellar Door & Farm Shop Manager is a key member of the Marnong Estate team. The role requires a close working relationship with team members with their own unique and vital role, and as a result requires an empathetic approach to internal and external relationships.

A passion for the wine industry is crucial in overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring that our guests enjoy the best possible experience. Building a leading a team in unison with the Operations Team requires the creation of a consistently positive work environment while maintaining the highest standard of customer service and leading by example.

Key Responsibilities

Service

Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of service and ensuring all staff engage guests to understand their needs and exceed expectations

Delivering memorable wine tasting experiences

Assist the Operations Team to ensure that all employees are focused on exceeding the service standards while being engaged and valued.

Solicit guest feedback to understand the needs and wants of customers

Assist in any areas of the restaurant when staffing constraints require

Hands on with serving.

Assign and instruct Waiters regarding duties and conduct briefings

Team Leadership

Mentor and lead a young vibrant team

Manage with passion, integrity, and knowledge while promoting the culture and values of Marnong Estate

Promote a positive culture within the Cellar Door & Farm Shop Team, acting as a role model and providing leadership as necessary.

Allocate responsibilities to each employee on shift and monitor performance accordingly. Ensure tasks are only undertaken by those employees certified to perform them.

Assist in implementing new company policies and procedures in conjunction with the Operations Manager

Provide direction to shift leaders and staff to achieve restaurant goals

Identify employee weaknesses and retrain as necessary

Job Requirements

Prior Cellar Door and management experience

WSET 2 or equivalent

A Valid Victorian RSA

Flexibility to work both weekdays and weekends

Friendly and Positive Attitude

A strong work ethic

Impeccable presentation and grooming

A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences

Ability to arrange transport to and from work
