**Role Description/Criteria**

We are seeking an inspirational educator to join our team of Religious Education Teachers, to engage our students in dialogue and explore their individual lived experiences of faith. Through a variety of learning methods, we intend our students to reflect upon self, their spirituality and contemporary society. Our Religious Education teachers aspire to cultivate and enable a deeper understanding of the Catholic tradition and how to integrate faith and life in a contemporary way.

In this role you will influence, guide and nurture our students’ knowledge and understanding of scripture, values and expressions of faith.

To be successful, you will need to display creativity, openness and a willingness to engage in faith-based conversations, alongside the classroom practice of prayer, ritual and liturgical celebration. We are looking for an authentic role model who is sensitive to the challenges experienced by students and who can demonstrate acceptance, empathy and understanding.

As a Catholic College, our teachers must have an active commitment to working in and supporting a school culture that reflects gospel values and a pastoral approach towards student and staff wellbeing.

The successful applicant will commence Term 1, 2025 as a permanent Teacher.
- experience in facilitating Religious Education in a school environment
- experience with curriculum and learning resources associated with Religious Education
- a passion for exploring contemporary expressions of faith in society
- a commitment to the ethos of Catholic education and the charism of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop
