Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

The Social Work Level 1/2 position works as part of the multidisciplinary team in the Supportive and Palliative Care Service based in the Nepean Cancer and Wellness Centre, Nepean Hospital Campus. The Social Worker provides comprehensive care to patients and their family/carers across hospital and community settings. The service offering includes crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, general counselling, advocacy, case management, therapeutic and grief/loss counselling, and complex discharge planning.

**What you will bring to the role**:

- Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the AASW.
- Demonstrated experience or ability to complete psychosocial assessments and demonstrated understanding of issues associated with life limiting illness, end of life issues, grief and loss counselling, crisis intervention, discharge planning and working with family/carers.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues associated with working with a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse client group.
- Demonstrated well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills and competence in information technology.
- Commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
- Current Driver’s Licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
