**Role**
Our Client is looking for a Head of IT / CIO which will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the organization's information technology infrastructure, operations & security.
This position involves leading a team of IT professionals, designing and implementing IT strategies, ensuring the security and efficiency of systems, and collaborating with various departments to align IT initiatives with business goals.

**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement an IT strategy / roadmap in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Work with other departments to identify and address their technology needs.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and best practices, and recommend new technologies and approaches that can improve the company's IT operations.
- Manage the IT budget, including identifying cost savings and optimization opportunities.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
- Ensure the security and reliability of the company's systems, including cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery plans.
- Plan, schedule, install, configure, upgrade, implement, maintain and support new and existing hardware, systems and software. Ensure infrastructure can be scaled to business needs.
- Manage networks and computer systems in the organisation to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage and Maintain Azure Active Directory and Cloud Applications.
- Assists in detailed design and specifications of programs including support, development, improvement, evaluation, installation and quality assurance.
- Liaise with users regarding project requirement, providing advice, guidance and expertise.
- Ensuring that the data stored in the data lake is secured against unauthorised access and complies with all relevant Australian regulations, such as privacy laws.
- Overseeing the scaling of the data lake to accommodate growing data volumes and ensuring that it performs efficiently. This includes regular monitoring and tuning.
- Ensuring seamless integration with other systems and making data available to various business units in a user-friendly manner. This may involve working with different teams to establish proper data pipelines.
- Manage the Information Security Management, including its statement of applicability, policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
- Work closely with GRC to define and build processes for data protection and quality assurance.
- Adopt best security practices in line with ISO 27001/27002 (e.g. Data Loss Prevention, Accurate Event Logging, Application Monitoring and Reporting, Mobile Policies, Firewall Policies, etc.)
- Management of key vendor relationships ensuring IT support is effective, responsive, and servicing within the SLAs.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in people leadership and at least 5 years in management of on-prem and cloud.
- Experience in developing and implementing IT Strategies that align with business objectives.
- Experience managing IT budgets and identifying cost savings and optimisation opportunities.
- Excellent knowledge of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) policies, processes and practices in line with ISO27001.
- Strong experience of cloud terminology, architecture, and tools including provisioning and monitoring (Azure).
- Strong Scripting experience essential (PowerShell).
- Strong understanding of Networking (VLANs, Routing, Firewalls).
- Strong experience with Windows Domain Environment (ADDS, DNS, Group Policy) and Windows 10 Desktop Standard Operating Environment.
- Strong experience with Endpoint Management solutions (Windows SCCM, Intune, Endpoint Manager, etc).
- High level of experience with Microsoft/Office 365, particularly including: system setup, user/group management, SharePoint, Power Apps and Power-Automate (MS Flow).
