**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are seeking a warm, organised and tech-savvy **Medical Receptionist** to join our friendly allied health team in Kirrawee. This front-line role is essential in creating a welcoming experience for patients while ensuring the efficient administration of daily clinic operations. You’ll be the first point of contact for patient queries, practitioner schedules and health records, with additional responsibilities that support broader **clerical and administrative systems**.

This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and has a keen eye for detail when handling sensitive information and supporting healthcare operations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Schedule appointments across multiple clinics and clinicians and manage waiting lists and bookings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in our patient management system.
- Process patient billings and Medicare, NDIS, DVA or private health fund claims.
- Handle EFTPOS and cash payments; issue receipts and reconcile daily transactions.
- Respond to patient and referrer queries with professionalism and empathy.
- Prepare and maintain clinical documents, forms and patient file systems.
- Ensure practitioner rooms and reception areas are stocked and organised.
- Provide general administrative support to the Practice Manager and clinicians, including ad hoc typing, scanning and filing.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

**Essential**
- Previous experience in medical or allied health reception or administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities calmly.
- Proficiency in patient management systems (e.g., Cliniko, Nookal) and Microsoft Office.
- Friendly and respectful manner with patients of all backgrounds and ages.
- Demonstrated ability to follow clerical procedures and handle confidential information with discretion.

**Desirable**
- Familiarity with Medicare, DVA and NDIS billing.
- Understanding of clinical documentation, patient referrals and compliance requirements.
- Experience in a multi-practitioner or multi-site health setting.
- Ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative systems.
