**The Role**
APS 5 ILS Practitioner - Sustainment is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
An APS 5 ILS Practitioner - Sustainment will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the Materiel Logistics function area based on legislation, policy and procedures.
They will undertake specialist research and analysis conduct investigations and perform procedural and clerical support work to achieve results.
**About our Team**
The Directorate of Deployed ICT (D-ICT) operates within the J6 Operations Support Branch under the Cyber Operations Division within Joint Capabilities Group. Our mission here at D-ICT is to deliver integrated, agile, robust, reliable, resilient and responsive Deployed ICT Services to enable the ADF to prevail in their warfighting mission. D-ICT is a hybrid Systems Program Office and Information Technology Service Management organisation. It operates and sustains network capabilities/products built for, and operating in deployed environments that are not consistently serviced by the Defence Strategic Network as an extension of the Defence Single Information Environment. D-ICT currently supports the following products:
- Fleet Information Environment
- Fleet Information System
- Deployed Information Environment
- Australian Mission Partner Environment
- Coordinate the Integrated Logistics System (ILS) requirements related to reviewing and validating project, System Project Office and Contractor technical documentation to ensure that all in-service technical support considerations of information technology equipment and Defence and JCG logistics policies are addressed.
- Undertake an active role in process improvement activities.
- Develop, maintain and implement logistic plans and procedures for the in-service support of information technology equipment in accordance with the policies and procedures.
- Provide input into Integrated Logistics Support Instructions for relevant technical information including cataloguing and codification and specialist technical advice in relation to hardware maintenance solutions for the supported system and liaise with key stakeholders to provide the technical advice in support of JCG systems.
- Responsible for coordination of Obsolescence Management with System Managers, Suppliers and OEM’s.
- Responsible for the cataloguing and codification of JCG fleet products and formulating related Complete Equipment Schedules registering Safety Data Sheets and complying EMEI.
