**About the facility**

Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.

The Central Sterilising Unit (CSU) and Satellite Reprocessing Unit (SRU) are well-equipped, spacious and modern facilities which provide reprocessing services to all Barwon Health internal and external sites and departments, the largest of these being our busy Operating Services

**About the role**

As the Instrument Technician (Grade 5) you will manage the work flow and function of the CSU or SRU floor. Your role will be to address and overcome challenges that arise with the changing needs of the unit and the organisation while maintaining a high standard of practice in accordance with Barwon Health policies and procedures as well as AS/NZS 4187:2014. You will be responsible for ensuring that contaminated and sterile items are collected, stored and distributed in a manner specified by the relevant policies, procedures and standards pertaining to Infection Prevention and the CSU/SRU.

Desirable: Certificate III in Sterilisation Services
Essential: Knowledge, experience and ability to perform reprocessing activities in all areas of sterilisation services, including Loan Kits and Sterile Store
