Lahey have built a wide and diverse portfolio of projects ranging from hospitals, aged care, education and correctional facilities as well as community infrastructure, luxury apartments and resort complexes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic **General Foreman** to join the team. The General Foreman is responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget, while ensuring optimum outcomes with respect to safety and quality.

This is a site-based role responsible for coordinating the site program, management of trades as well as overseeing plant and equipment for achieving the successful handing over of the project to the client.

Reporting to the Project Manager your responsibilities will include (_but are not limited to_):

- Plans and prepares short-term programmes and monitors performance against medium range and overall programme
- Assists in the relationship between the various trades and ensures that subcontractors carry out work safely, efficiently and in accordance with the works programme.
- Reviews, monitors and implements safe work method statements in conjunction with Lahey Constructions staff and subcontractors.
- Develops good morale on the job and an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork between direct labour employees and subcontractors by fostering understanding, participation and enthusiasm through information, planning and site meetings.
- Demonstrates a thorough awareness and detailed knowledge of all documentation, specifications and drawings.
- Ensure that work being done strictly complies with the specification and drawings and to the relevant acts and regulations and raises non-compliant issues as necessary.
- Promotes a positive safety and environmental culture and complies with all site OHS&E requirements.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the process of incident prevention and incident reporting
- Ensures that all construction works undertaken and completed are in strict performance with the specification and relevant standards and Code of practice.
- Implements relevant project quality plan in line with company project QA procedure for subcontractors and suppliers.

**Skills & experience**:

- Construction or engineering degree, trade or building related qualification
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Construction Safety Induction (white) card
- Ability to make decisions and action all correspondence in a timely manner
