Costco Australia Payroll Team is looking for a payroll officer to support the New Zealand operation. If you have a New Zealand end to end payroll experience, look no further. This is the role for you

Come join Costco Team You will be part of a dynamic payroll team responsible for end to end payroll processing and compliance for Costco New Zealand and Costco Australia. Experience in Preceda and Employee Central will be an advantage.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Processing end to end fortnightly payroll on time with 100% accuracy for New Zealand and supporting Australia payroll as required
- Have an in depth knowledge and understanding of New Zealand payroll and payroll systems i.e. holiday pay calculations, terminations, Kiwisaver deductions, ACC levies, etc.
- Ensure we remain 100% compliant with New Zealand and Australia payroll related legislative requirements
- Preparing and updating payroll process documentation and manuals and driving process improvement
- Assisting in month end process, year-end process and payroll reconciliations
- Assisting with ongoing payroll project activities
- Supporting the new warehouses setup by working closely with the warehouse team and training them
- Liaising with other parts of the business to ensure we provide timely and accurate payroll information
- Responding to payroll queries and ad-hoc business requests
- Filing and record keeping

Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher

Knowledge/Skills:

- Experience with time and attendance systems and processing payroll for medium to large business
- Thorough understanding of New Zealand payroll
- Ability to interpret Awards and Employee Agreements, understanding of payroll legislative requirements
- Experience of using Preceda and Employee Central is desirable but not mandatory
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and be a problem solver with strong logical and analytical thinking
- Self-initiative, flexible, able to assist other team members
- Self-motivated, organized and able to work professionally and effectively in high pressure situations
- Display a positive “can do” attitude
- Strong MS Excel skills

**Other Specific requirements**:

- Full Covid-19 Vaccination or medical contraindication certificate
- Satisfactory Working Rights in Australia
