The Murray-Darling Basin Authority is seeking a highly skilled System Analyst. The key responsibilities are:

- **
- ** Designing and Deploying Solutions**: Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based solutions.
- ** Evaluating New Technologies**: Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services, staying up to date with industry trends and advancements.
- ** Documentation and Compliance**: Develop and maintain documentation related to MDIRAS’ cloud architecture. Ensure compliance with legislation and data privacy laws.
- ** Capacity Planning**: Assess resource requirements, scalability, and performance needs. Plan for future growth and optimise resource allocation within Azure.
- ** Cost Management**: Monitors usage, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and ensures efficient spending on Azure resources.
- ** Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity**: Design and implement disaster recovery strategies using Azure services like Azure Site Recovery or Azure Backup. Ensuring business continuity during outages is essential.
- ** Governance and Compliance**: Establishing governance policies, managing access controls, and ensuring compliance with MDBA standards.

**Performance Optimisation**: Continuously improving system performance by fine-tuning configurations, monitoring bottlenecks, and optimising queries.

**Requirements**:
**Essential criteria**

1. A strong understanding of Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure SQL Database is essential.
- 2. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Azure CLI is crucial for automating tasks, managing resources, and deploying infrastructure as code.
- 3. Knowledge of Azure security features, identity management (such as Azure Active Directory) and understanding Azure networking components (such as Virtual Networks, Subnets, and Network Security Groups).
- 4. Skills in monitoring tools like Azure Monitor and Application Insights, as well as troubleshooting techniques, for maintaining system health, and the associated communication and negotiation skills for issue resolution
- 5. Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management and familiarity with Azure DevOps, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and version control (e.g., Git) is beneficial.
- 6. Proficiency in managing Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, or other Azure database services is essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
