Youth Mentor

We are currently looking for a **Youth Mentor** to join our team on a **casual basis**. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building genuine connections and providing meaningful guidance to young people during challenging times.

**_ Location: Bridges Reconnect, Woodridge_**
**_Casual Role | 8 hours per fortnight_**

**About Us**:
Lutheran Services is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support to communities across Queensland. Has been serving our community since 1935. We have continued the Lutheran tradition of care, now providing services and support to over 6,000 people every year.

At **Bridges Reconnect**, we work with young people aged 12-18 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Through counselling, group programs, family mediation, and practical support, we help them find stability, reconnect with community, and build a brighter future.

**What You’ll Do**:
As a Youth Mentor, you will:

- Provide one-on-one support and mentoring tailored to each young person’s needs
- Build rapport through respectful, consistent, and strengths-based interactions
- Support young people in setting and working towards personal goals
- Assist with life skills, connection to education, and building community supports
- Collaborate with the broader Bridges Reconnect team to ensure holistic support

**About You**:
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you:

- Experience working with at-risk youth or in community service settings
- A calm and consistent approach to building trust with young people
- Good communication and the ability to engage young people and their families
- Flexibility and initiative to respond to individual needs
- An understanding of youth homelessness, early intervention, or family breakdown issues

**Requirements**:

- Blue Card (Working with Children)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid QLD Driver’s Licence

**Desirable**:Certificate or relevant training in Youth Work, Community Services, or related areas
