The Campus Development portfolio plays a pivotal role in the future growth and sustainability of the University. This business unit is responsible for facilitating and managing essential infrastructure, maintenance, and capital works projects that underpin the University's operations and growth.

A key responsibility of this portfolio is the delivery of the University’s Campus Development Plan, which is critical to ensuring the campus evolves in line with strategic priorities, supports innovation, and meets the needs of students, staff, and the broader community. By managing complex projects and maintaining high standards across all facilities, the Campus Development team helps create an environment that fosters learning, research, and community engagement.

As a central enabler of the University’s operations, this portfolio ensures that every project and initiative aligns with sustainability principles, modern design standards, and long-term planning objectives.

Your New Role

To ensure that Preventative maintenance, Reactive Work and minor project work is undertaken in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with university policy and procedure whilst achieving safety compliance and client satisfaction.

This position is accountable for ensuring the following services and operations are effectively

planned, purposefully delivered, efficiently operated and aligned to meet the University’s

strategic needs and objectives:
Murdoch External Campuses
- Infrastructure Asset Inventory and Audit
- Infrastructure Asset Repairs and Maintenance
- Infrastructure Service Provision
- Electrical Services
- Mechanical Services
- Hydraulic Services
- Fire Protection Services
- General Maintenance Services
- Building Management Systems

Your Key responsibilities will include
- Liaise with customers to identify needs and agree on the scope of works to be undertaken, ensure stakeholders are aware of any impacts
- Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance works to ensure timely completion, mínimal disruption, and alignment with budget.
- Supervise technicians and contractors, ensuring quality standards are met and strategic asset management goals are supported.
- Coordinate planned shutdowns, isolations, emergency breakdowns, and after-hours works to maintain operational continuity.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members; lead by example in professionalism and conduct.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, University policies, and occupational safety and health requirements.

This Continuous, Full Time attracts a remuneration of $109,943 - $125,825 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:

- Relevant experience in facilities management or related environment
- Possession of a ‘C’ class vehicle drivers’ licence
- Basic maintenance and technical abilities
- Ability to successfully work independently with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated problem solving skills including the ability to work with limited resources
