Freshwater Bay Shipwrights operates out of **ROYAL FRESHERWATER BAY YACHT CLUB**and serve a diverse client base, our services are varied and range from boat building, refits, teak deck fabrication, repairs, antifouling and maintenance, and we are committed to delivering the highest standards of craftsmanship and service.

**About the role**

Freshwater Bay Shipwrights is seeking an experienced Shipwright to join our team in Peppermint Grove. As a Shipwright, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a range of marine vessels, ensuring they are seaworthy and well-maintained. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and a keen eye for detail.

**What you'll be doing**
- Perform inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs on wooden, fibreglass, and metal-hulled vessels
- Undertake routine maintenance tasks such as sanding, painting, varnishing, and antifouling
- Carry out the repairs and modifications of vessels as required
- Collaborate with the wider team to ensure all work is completed to a high standard
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work undertaken
- Ensure a safe working environment by following all relevant health and safety procedures

**What we're looking for**
- Formal qualifications in Shipbuilding or a related trade
- Extensive experience as a Shipwright, with a strong understanding of marine vessel construction and repair techniques
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as specialist marine equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to safety and a strong work ethic
