**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
The Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) Branch and the Recovery and Litigation Branch are a part of the Employee Entitlement Safeguards and Policy (EESP) Division, along with the Workplace Compliance and Enforcement Policy Branch. The EESP Division is within the broader Workplace Relations Group.
The role of the Budget and Finance Manager is to provide enabling services to the Recovery and Litigation Branch. We are looking for a capable and highly motivated EL1 to join the Program Management Office to lead the Finance functions associated with the FEG Recovery Program.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead and support a small team of financial officers and to ensure compliance with financial and management reporting obligations.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including supporting a cloud-based invoice review platform.
- Manage procurement of contractors, insolvency and legal services including AusTender reporting.
- Complete end of month activities including reconciliations and accrual journals.
- Lead all aspects of administered and departmental budget reporting including preparing briefing on progress against financial targets.
- Review regular and ad hoc data and reporting, and provide input to briefs and ministerial correspondence, ensuring information is conveyed in an informative, accurate and clear manner using plain English.
- Undertake project work as required, including liaising with third party service providers to successfully deliver an outcome or work product.
- Build meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders about matters of mutual interest, including representing the FEG Recovery Program in diverse settings.
**Qualifications and Education**
- Qualification in Finance/Accounting or prior experience in a similar finance related role is desirable but not essential.
- Membership in Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand/ Certified Practising Accountants Australia and/or Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association desirable but not required.
