Are you a dog lover? We are looking to expand our wonderful team and add a couple of highly motivated groomers assistants to our team 2 casual positions vacant with steady, secure hours, 20-35 hours.

The Pet Pad Brisbane is a well established boutique pet retail store, pet spa/ grooming salon with dog daycare located in Newstead and has been in operation for nearly 20 years. We love to pamper pets and educate their owners at the same time. Our friendly long term staff are professional, take pride in their quality of work and are ready to help some new members join our amazing team

**Duties and responsibilities
- Dog hydro bather/ groomers assistant**

This position requires someone who is hardworking and energetic as it is a very physical and fast paced job. You will be required to bath and blow-dry dogs of all breeds and sizes to a high standard and to prep the dogs so they are ready for the groomers to give them their style makeover. You must be ready and willing to follow direction but also able to use your own initiative when necessary.

Maintaining and cleaning of the salon and equipment to a high standard will be part of your daily routine.

You must be confident, eager to learn new techniques and calm.

Reliability and a strong work ethic is an absolute must.

Providing a safe environment for clients and staff is always a priority and as such, you must be able to follow policies and procedures at all times and report to senior staff where necessary.

Be calm and work with a gentle hand. We pride ourselves on fearless grooming and also aim to grow a bond with our furry clients. We want to create positive experiences for our dog clients.

Good time management skills are a must, we are a busy salon and it is important to run our day smoothly.

**Skills & Experience**

Experience is an advantage but not a must big you have the right attitude. What I am looking for in a team member is:
A passion for dogs

A basic knowledge of dog behavior

Reliability and responsibility

Enthusiasm about pets and their behavior, how to better fulfill their lives as well as an enthusiasm for the position

Professional presentation and a professional work ethic

These are all a must. This position would be perfect for a recent school leaver or suit someone willing to start at the bottom and work their way up. If you are willing to grow with us and stay long term, there are definitely opportunities for career development. Possibilities to train into a grooming position down the track. Our clients are like family, as is our lovely team of staff, so we are looking for someone to join our family.

Must have availability to work between 6:45am - 6:15pm Mon - Fri and some 8:30-2:30pm Saturdays may required from time to time if our usual bather is absent.

We are in search of highly motivated individuals and applicants who can follow instructions clearly, let their personalities shine and who are willing to put in a little effort and show they are really excited to work at The Pet Pad.
