About the role
As an Infrastructure/Cloud Engineer, you will join a regional engineering team and bring your technical expertise to build and maintain local cloud infrastructure and platforms.
Working closely with Senior Systems Engineers, Project Managers and Application Specialists, you will be work across a good mix of projects and BAU tasks, and gain more exposure to Azure as they start their Public Cloud journey.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
Install, configure and commission the company's solutions. Provision Infrastructure related to each project (Servers, Storage, Clusters, etc.) Interface with third party suppliers and sub-contractors to facilitate the deployment of hardware and software solutions. Perform regular security monitoring and maintenance. Troubleshoot any hardware and software issues.Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required. Write and maintain all project documentation
Skills & experience
Previous experience working as a Systems Engineer in medium to large organisations. Strong technical skills across:Windows Servers 2016 and above SQL servers 2016 and above Active Directory, DNS, DHCP VMWare 6.5 or above Networks / VLAN High Availability proxy Clustering Technologies Storage (HPE 3Par, EMC, etc) FirewallsExperience with Data Centre technologies and DC failover. A genuine interest in IT and ability and willingness to learn more Experience dealing with external services providers Excellent communication skills A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent (mandatory) Industry certifications highly regarded (MCITP, VCP, ITIL, etc.)
