Irrigation Technician

Zerella Fresh is one of Australia’s largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia’s leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.

We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Irrigation Technicians to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, supporting operations at our Parilla site in South Australia.

As a valuable member of our team, you will play a vital role in the success of our Potato, Carrot and Onion operation. If you are reliable, energetic and have a passion for farming we would love to hear from you.

**Duties include**:

- Oversee, operate and maintain irrigation systems and programs to ensure effective and efficient water delivery to all crop areas and maximise the value of the crop production grown on company farms.
- Develop and implement irrigation programs, equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installs to reduce risk, improve capability, quality and reliability plus lower operational costs.
- Supervise the installation of new irrigation systems, drainage and water harvesting systems.
- Estimate seasonal crop water use and forecast equipment, labour and material needs to ensure efficient production.
- Schedule and maintain irrigation rates according to recommendations.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant qualification plus at least 1 year of relevant work experience OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Full/unrestricted driver’s licence
- Agricultural background/experience.
- Basic Mechanical knowledge.
- Basic record-keeping capabilities.
- Self-Motivated.
- Honest.
- Experienced in the use of harvesters/tractors.
- Good Communication Skills.
- Excellent attitude.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
