**About the role**

Reporting to the General Manager - NSW & ACT, this role will provide Commercial management support to both our current operational construction projects and the Commercial team.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Overviewing and critiquing tender submissions for exposure to adverse terms and conditions including detailed and follow-up internal reviews, front end negotiations with prospective clients as required so as to achieve acceptable contractual close out.
- Assisting in the management of contractual and commercial disputes and where applicable the co-ordination and direction to the Business Unit’s legal counsel and liaison with insurance representatives. Attending and assisting in commercial resolution with clients, contractors or consultants as applicable. Preparing internal management reports and report on dispute status.
- Managing and promoting the Business Unit Training of contract administration and project management commercial tools and ensure the Business Unit’s training activities are planned to meet current and future organisation and employee needs.
- Assisting in the preparation of subcontractor and consultant contract forms ensuring appropriate forms and commercial terms are duly incorporated and providing advice accordingly.
- Assisting in the preparation and development of joint venture documentation, pre-bid agreements and MOUs on an as needs basis.
- Providing advice and information to projects on contractual and commercial matters including compliance with contract documents, legislation and Australian or relevant Standards.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications.
- Minimum of ten years’ experience in project / contractual engineering.
- Experience with a variety of contract forms, for example D&C, Construct Only, Alliance, ECI etc. Experience with the NEC suite of contracts would be valuable.
- Determines the best course of action to achieve appropriate and measurably improved results within the business.
- Through an understanding of company and individual needs, plans and implements developmental activities for self and team to increase their levels of competency and to meet future business goals.
- Meets challenging business objectives, resolving conflicts to the mutual benefit of all parties.
- Uses their knowledge and experience to generate innovative ways of overcoming day to day problems.
- Increases profitability through the innovative handling of complex business and technical problems, implementing advanced techniques which enhance the business.
- Promotes business strategy through effective teamwork both internally and with the customer. Creates a dynamic atmosphere where teamwork is encouraged and change is positively managed.
