**About the Role**

CareSouth is looking for a fixed term - full time Caseworker to join our SYSS Program in Shoalhaven.

Shoalhaven Youth Support Services (SYSS) offers support to young people who are from the Shoalhaven Local Government Area or have family links to the area. Young people who are either struggling to stay at home or are homeless are supported through our Outreach Program and Short-term Residential Program.

SYSS strives to empower young people with the skills and knowledge to be resilient and learn how to reach out for support when needed.

**What everyday tasks will include**:

- Case plan development and review
- Referrals for specialised counselling and medication
- Nutrition and daily living programs
- Health and well-being programs (yoga, personal training)
- Starting young people on education pathways (TAFE, Community College)
- Linking young people with other location services that offer tailored support

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Diploma in Social Sciences / Social Welfare or equivalent or working towards
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues facing vulnerable children and their families.
- Sound interpersonal, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a high performing team.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective community networks.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, Cultural issues and the NSW Child Protection system.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Willing to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain a (NSW) Working with Children Check clearance number and/or (ACT) Working with Vulnerable People Card.
