**The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is an independent statutory office established to protect the rights and interests of adults with impaired decisionmaking capacity, and children and young people in the child protection system and other visitable sites.

Key responsibilities:

- Undertake a review of inactive files where the Public Guardian is appointed as guardian for legal matters to determine if the appointment and any decisions are required, if the matter should be referred to the seek leave to withdraw project officer or referred to guardianship to monitor.
- Liaise with the Principal Practice Leaders to identify an appropriate referral process and recording of information where there is no longer the need for a
guardian for legal matters to be appointed.
- Ensure all client-related documentation and guardianship activities are appropriately recorded, accurate and up-to-date, including updates to case
summaries and file running notes.
- Work effectively as a team member and support others in the team to ensure the successful delivery of client services or identify appropriate referral pathways for adults where no decision making is required.
- Liaise with and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Mandatory Condition of the role:
Possession of a C class driver's licence is a mandatory requirement for this role, as travel is required to attend meetings, events and visits in a range of locations that are often not accessible by alternative means.
