We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the effective upkeep of campus buildings and site infrastructure, maintaining them in optimal operating condition to support University operations. This position will manage Planned Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance programs, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed efficiently and in a timely manner. Your expertise will play a key role in providing a safe and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the maintenance program using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure efficiency and compliance with performance benchmarks.
- Supervise and support trade staff, ensuring they receive appropriate training, certification, and professional development.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety and quality standards through regular inspections and performance monitoring.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns, planned shutdowns, and after-hours callouts, assisting with emergency response management.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Corporate Services, and Minor Projects teams to enhance infrastructure design, energy efficiency, and asset performance.
- Promote and enforce compliance with relevant legislation, University policies, and safety procedures, fostering a professional and ethical work environment.
**About you**
- A relevant trade or engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
- Experience in facilities management or front-line management within a maintenance or infrastructure environment.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capability to supervise and manage contractors effectively.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to managing maintenance programs and drive accountability with contractors.
- Proficiency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to oversee and track maintenance activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to liaise with internal and external parties.
- A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and best practices in maintenance and facility management.
- The ability to analyse reports and data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
**What we can offer**
This is a continuing, full-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
**Salary Range**
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 7 range $98,603 - $106,825 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $115,365 - $124,986 per annum.
