**How will I Help?**

The Associate Director, Interest Rate Solutions role works within the Business and Consumer Financial Markets team which plays a critical role in Westpac’s Institutional Bank (WIB). The team provides Financial Markets execution, advice, support, and risk services to customers across the Corporate, Business and Consumer Division (CBC) of the Group.

The Associate Director, Interest Rate Solutions provides proactive Interest Rate Risk Management (IRRM) customer engagement and execution across the Commercial Customer Relationship Management, SME and Regional & Agri customer segments. The role also supports customers in managing their cash holdings via Tailored Deposits.

You will work with bankers to educate and inform customers of the suite of IRRM products available to manage interest rate risk, you will also be responsible for managing risk across the customer portfolio including suitability risk.

Clients are likely to be small to medium enterprises, many with limited experience in IRRM. Effective communication and ability to engage customers and develop an understanding of their risk management objectives in a time critical manner is key to success in the role.

Other Accountabilities Include;
- Build relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure they have a clear understanding of the FM model and the FM Value proposition.
- Understanding the relationship between interest cost, gross sales margins, business industry and the potential implications of this on a customer’s capital base and EBITDA including any potential risk to lending covenants held with the bank.
- Manage price and product distribution to achieve desired results for customers whilst improving business performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in CBC FM including other FX and Interest Rate Solutions dealers to promote a “customer first” and enterprise-led view of activity and behaviour.

**What do I need?**

To be successful you will have the following:

- Ideally 5 years plus experience in financial markets or commercial banking
- Relevant education and professional accreditation, including AFMA (or ability to obtain same within 6 months of commencing in role)
- Ability to manage a high-volume portfolio of clients with demonstrable history of achieving sales objectives.
- Demonstrated capability in engaging with multiple stakeholders to achieve required outcomes
- Self-motivated / show high initiative
- Superior customer service and relationship building skills
- Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- High level of PC literacy and Numeracy skills with attention to detail
- Understanding of compliance obligations and the CBC handbook in providing balanced and evidenced advice, with appropriate records kept.
