**Position Information**:
North Sydney Girls High is an established fully academically selective school catering for over 900 high potential and gifted students. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds with 93% being of language backgrounds other than English.

Students are highly motivated, aspirational and deeply involved with their school community. A concept-driven curriculum has been developed with a focus on varied and authentic assessment. Curriculum programs emphasise higher order critical and creative thinking and are complemented by extensive co-curricular sporting, cultural and civic programs. Achieving one's personal best and self reflection are key elements of the school's ethos leading to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

North Sydney Girls High School has a strong culture of building leadership capacity of students and staff to work towards continual school improvement and delivering the goals of our School Improvement Plan.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, experience of leading and working strategically and collaboratively to have a sustained positive impact on high potential and gifted students’ achievement and school improvement; demonstrated skills in implementing proactive, innovative, and effective wellbeing?strategies that promote and support social, emotional, behavioural and intellectual engagement for our students, demonstrated educational leadership capacity to lead evidence-based professional learning that promotes and strengthens ongoing school-wide development and demonstrated capacity to enhance community partnerships through innovative programs that expand parent engagement opportunities to build connections with the school and the learning of our students.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
