Start your hands-on career with a horticulture traineeship through Maxima and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. This role is for those who cannot get enough of nature and are interested in both horticulture and arboriculture.

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is one of Adelaide’s largest councils and is spread across 51 suburbs, just 8km away from the CBD. This council is home to historical buildings, cultural facilities, and an abundance of parks which you could be working in everyday if successful

Day to day, across 3 years, you will maintain a range of local greenery including trees, plants, parks, and streetscapes, whilst studying towards a nationally recognised **Certificate III in Horticulture.**

This fulltime traineeship opportunity will see you working between both the Arboriculture and Horticulture teams, where the structure will allow you to develop a wide skillset and guarantee you a snapshot into your long-term gardening career.

**Duties Include**:

- Chipping, trimming and removal of trees
- Mulch, prune, pot and water plants and trees
- Garden and grounds maintenance
- Brush cutting and mowing
- Pest and weed control
- Install irrigation pipes and watering systems
- Use of relevant machinery including chainsaws

S**kills and Knowledge**:

- Enjoy working in the outdoors and working with garden tools
- Be committed, reliable and hardworking
- Manage and prioritise time and tasks effectively
- Work effectively in a team and have good communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude, and display initiative

**Role Requirements**:

- Provisional or full driver’s licence and own vehicle (required)
- Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
