**The Role**:
Based at Head Office in Kilsyth and reporting to the Styling Manager, the Industrial Designer will provide support in design projects by creating, developing and presenting conceptual work based on design briefs and instruction relating to products that will either be manufactured by the company, outsourced or provide internal support to other internal stakeholders i.e. retail design and show stands.

The position will require market research of design trends, materials, manufacturing methods, liaising with engineering staff, management, other departmental staff as well as external suppliers and customers. Travel will be required and encouraged for research purposes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Providing design support to multiple areas of the business through the Design Engineering department in areas of product design, conceptual work, packaging and retail design.
- Generation and presentation of works to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Conceptual design work, supporting other members of the design team and the Styling Manager.
- Pre-production designs and support for the engineering team including production of prototypes, pre-production drawings and manufacturing documents including but not limited to drawings, operational procedures, assembly instructions.
- Creation of artwork including concept and ideation sketches, line drawings, technical/ manufacturing drawings, 3D CAD models.
- Proficiency in design software packages including SolidWorks, Adobe Suite (essential) or Corel Graphics Suites and/or Sketchbook will be required.
- 3-8 years of relevant industry experience. A tertiary qualification in Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering or a proven history of product design and development.
- The ability to produce prototypes of concepts using multiple means and media is required, the ability to weld will be highly regarded.
- Multiple projects will be run concurrently. Effective time management and recognition of the prioritisation of work is essential.
- Ability to work to deadlines and within a high tempo environment.
