**About the role**
**TAFE SA** is seeking a passionate **Counsellor** to provide a professional counselling service to TAFE SA students and provide a consultancy service to our teaching staff. You will be responsible for the provision of career and course advisory services as well as support in the areas of welfare, financial information, crisis and personal stresses. The incumbent exercises initiative and judgement and will work collaboratively with others in meeting objectives.
- Experience in professional counselling services and the provision of a broad range of intervention strategies including mediation, negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Experience working with a diverse client group including people with disabilities, at risk and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of the national discrimination statutory framework/legislation and relevant standards and principles.
- Knowledge of the Vocational, Education and Training sector and current issues affecting service delivery.
- Minimum Degree level qualification in the areas of Counselling, Social Work or Psychology, or a combination of qualifications and experience at an equivalent level.
