Centacare, as the lead agency of a consortium-based model, is responsible for operating headspace Port Adelaide. headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation. The headspace mission is to improve the mental health, social wellbeing and economic participation of young Australians aged 12-25. headspace Port Adelaide provides free services to young people in the areas of mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, work and study.

The Youth Mental Health Clinician - Private Practice will be responsible for the provision of bulk-billing Focused Psychological Strategies to young people aged 12-25 years old who have been referred via a GP Mental Health Care Plan under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Better Access to Mental Health (BAMH) initiative, retaining 100% of your Medicare earnings.

Please note that this is not a salaried position.

**Private practitioners will be provided with the following**:

- Ongoing Medicare referrals from both our own co-located General Practitioners and our partner General Practices in the community
- Use of a youth-friendly waiting room and consultation room
- Reception and administration support
- Infrastructure such as wireless Internet, telephone, and photocopier/fax
- Collegial support from a vibrant multidisciplinary team
- Opportunities to participate in professional development activities
- Flexibility in negotiating number of sessions per day and working hours

**In return, private practitioners will be required to**:

- Independently process Medicare bulk-billing
- Provide bulk-billed services to referred young people (without upfront or co-payment)
- Provide bulk-billed services to referred young people (without upfront or co-payment)
- Maintain electronic client records and data collection in-line with Medicare Australia and organizational guidelines
- Sign and adhere to the headspace Port Adelaide Private Practitioner Service Agreement

**What you need to bring**

**Essential**
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as 'Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance')

You must be one of the following:

- A psychologist who is registered without limitation as a person who may
provide that kind of service under the applicable law in force in the State
or Territory in which the service is provided
- OR a social worker who has membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is certified by AASW as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
- OR an occupational therapist who is registered as a person who may
provide that kind of service under the applicable law in force in the State
or Territory in which the service is provided
- AND has a Medicare Provider number
- AND has or is willing to obtain an ABN and personal and professional
indemnity insurance

**Please note that this job is a Contractor arrangement and can be Part time or Full time. It is a non-salaried role.**
