**About the role**
In this role, you will be reporting to the Team Leader, Waste Service Delivery and be responsible for effective oversight and operational day-to-day management of the Drysdale Landfill & Resource Recovery Centre.

**Classification: Band 6 ($90, 263.74 - $97, 365.62)**

Key responsibilities include:

- Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Drysdale Landfill & Resource Recovery Centre, ensuring that the facility operates safely, efficiently and with a strong customer service focus.
- Facilitate the coordination of the capital works operations and the landfill daily operations to ensure effective cooperation and mínimal interruption to landfill operational activities.
- Support the capital works program for landfill cell rehabilitation, including comprehensive reporting on cell fill rate, capacity, and assisting in the identification of future requirements
- Ensure compliance with the Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP) and applicable legislation, guidelines and procedures, and regularly review systems for monitoring and compliance to support system improvement.
- Manage financial and budget requirements, including monitoring budget performance, supporting budget development, and providing input into business development opportunities.
- Provide assistance and support to the Team Leader, Waste Delivery Service on various projects as required. This is pivotal with the operations of the PT Henry Transfer Station.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in, and a thorough understanding of, landfill operations and/or site/facility operations management.

Essential Experience:

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to determine program delivery, resolve service delivery issues and set operational work area allocation
- Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices related to landfill operations inclusive OH&S obligations
- Proven interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders within a complex organisation, focused on increased efficiency development
- Good experience in business planning and management, including budget development, financial management, resource management, and complex reporting
